Leez Z-series in leaf epidermal cells
Shown is a confocal Z-series taken of leaf mid-vein epidermal cells from line Leez. The marker accumulates along the cell surface and a points of contact between neighboring cells. These contact points are reasonable candidates for plasmodesmatal connections, however this needs to be explored further. One interesting aspect of this marker is that it does not appear to mark cell contact junctions in all cells. In cotyledon cells for example, we have observed contact junctions only on the abaxial surface. A more extensive analysis of the bahviour of this marker is in progress
